Move over Fashion Royalty, REAL Royalty has been on view at the catwalk shows

Fashion royalty gathered once again for the recent shows in Paris, New York, London and Milan.

And actual royalty, too, made its appearance at the recent fashion weeks, with the likes of Princess Eugenie and Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark gracing the events. 

Eugenie attended Dior Homme in Paris wearing an all-black ensemble by Fendi. 

Princess Alexandra of Hanover was at the same occasion, making headlines with a vintage Chanel dress that had been worn by her mother, Princess Caroline of Monaco in 1990.

Here we take a look at how the royals - major and minor - fared at some of the most glamorous events in the world.

Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie, 33, exuded elegance at the Dior Homme show during Paris Couture Fashion Week in January.

The late Queen's granddaughter, who works as an associate director at the art gallery Hauser and Wirth, appeared on the front row in a sophisticated all-black ensemble by Fendi.

The royal opted for a figure-hugging wool dress and tuxedo-inspired coat for the occasion, which was staged in the courtyard of the 18th century École Militaire in Paris.

She accessorised the outfit with a pair slingbacks and Fendi's iconic Peekaboo ISeeU bag.

Over the years, Eugenie has developed a strong relationship with the Dior's creative director, Kim Jones, who also designs for Fendi.

The Princess is often seen wearing Fendi creations, including at the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla in May 2023.

Lady Amelia and Eliza Spencer attended Milan Fashion Week in February.

The 31-year-old twins chose co-ordinating black and gold couture to attend the Casademunt by Maite fashion show, held at IFEMA Madrid. 

They have become a fixture on the front row and find themselves invited to the most coveted parties. They were seen at the Air Ambulance ball in the English capital a few days earlier.

The siblings made their modelling debut at Dartmouth House, Mayfair, during London Fashion Week spring/summer 2023.

Amelia and Eliza, the daughters of Earl Spencer - and nieces of Diana - slinked down the Josh Birch Jones catwalk at the CityWide Celebration show, captivating onlookers.

Both women appeared to be in their element.

Princess Alexandra of Hanover made headlines when she stepped out wearing a little black dress, brimming with history. 

Alexandra, 24, who is Grace Kelly's granddaughter, has been attending Paris Fashion Week since she was 18. 

However, the monochrome tweed dress that she donned to the Chanel Haute Couture spring/summer 2024 show might be her most impressive look to date. 

Originating from the fall/winter 1990 Couture collection, this vintage frock was  worn by her mother, Princess Caroline of Monaco, back in 1990.

The nautical design, a staple of the house, incorporates a contrasting collar, striking scalloped stitching and double-breasted front, featuring buttons painted with a silhouette of Coco Chanel.

The Princess' grandmother, Grace Kelly, was renowned for her impeccable sense of style, often favouring Chanel, and Alexandra is undoubtedly following in her footsteps.

She opened the prestigious Le Bal des Débutantes dancing with her German film director father, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, in November. 

And Countess Lara Cosima, 20, looked every inch the part as she gracefully twirled on the dancefloor at Shangri-La Paris, wearing a breathtaking Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown. 

It seemed fitting, then, that she made a series of appearances at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, attending the Jean Paul Gaultier, Giambattista Valli and Armani Privé shows.

The 20-year-old even received an invitation to join head designer Giambattista Valli backstage after his catwalk presentation.

Lara is the daughter of Academy Award-winning film director, Florian - best known for The Lives of Others and The Tourist - who was born in Germany into the aristocratic Henckel von Donnersmarck family.

Based in Paris, the fashion design student, shares insights into her lavish lifestyle on TikTok, where she has racked up almost 20 million views.

Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark

Not only is Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark a fashion week regular, but she has also modelled for several designers, including Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Cartier. 

The 27-year-old, who is the daughter of Prince Pavlos of Greece and New York socialite Chantal Miller, made her runway entrance for Dolce & Gabbana during Milan Men's Fashion Week in 2017 for the spring/summer 2018 events.

More recently, Maria-Olympia enjoyed a front row seat at Loewe's star-studded autumn/winter 2024 show in Paris, where she brushed shoulders with Eva Green, Pharrell Williams and Emilia Clarke.

A month earlier, she attended Toteme's autumn/winter 2024 presentation in Paris, decked out in a newly-launched dress, signature wool coat, knee-high boots and T-lock clutch.

Maria-Olympia's coveted wardrobe is stocked with a plethora of designer labels, ranging from Alessandra Rich to Brock Collection and Monse.

She frequently attends high-profile events, hosted by the likes of Tiffany & Co and Bulgari.

Princess Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies proved to be a queen of style at the Giorgio Armani show during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

The Italian heiress, 19, commanded attention in an eye-catching scarlet polka dot suit as she arrived alongside her sister Princess Carolina, 20, and their mother Princess Camilla, Duchess of Castro, 52.

Her father, Prince Carlo, holds a claim to the now defunct throne of the former House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, a cadet branch of the Spanish royal family, while her mother, Duchess Camilla, is the daughter of Italian industry tycoon Camilla Crociani. 

The following day, Chiara and Carolina were seen wearing extravagant jewel-coloured gowns at the highly-anticipated Elie Saab show.

The duo spend their time between Italy, Monaco, Paris and Saint-Tropez - and posting social media pictures to prove it.

Sirivannavari presented its autumn/winter 2023-24 collection at The Ritz in Paris for the first-time during Fashion Week last March

Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, the only daughter of Thailand's King Vajiralongkorn, is often seen at Paris Fashion Week.

The Thai Princess, 37, who is a design graduate of Paris' Chambre Syndicale de la Couture (now IFM), launched her eponymous label, Sirivannavari, 15 years ago. 

Last March, the brand presented its autumn/winter 2023-24 collection at The Ritz in Paris for the first time during Fashion Week.

A selection of pulsating looks were inspired by three pioneering women in aviation history: Amelia Earhart, Geraldine 'Jerrie' Mock and Valentina Tereshkova.

One of the collection’s highlights was an exclusive print, reminiscent of a patchwork, which featured artwork exclusively created by the designer. 

Sirivannavari  attended a number of shows, including Schiaparelli, where she wore a cream waistcoat and trousers by the Italian label. 

Lady Amelia Windsor

The model, who is 43rd in line to the throne, is often spotted in the front row at fashion events 

Lady Amelia Windsor embraced an ethereal style at the Bora Aksu spring/summer 2024 show for London Fashion Week. 

The royal, 28, opted for a playful satin dress by the London-based designer, featuring a tiered hem, sparkling crystal embellishment and dainty bow detailing.

She complemented her look with chunky chain bracelets and rings, proudly flashing them as she held out the skirt of her dress for photographers.

Amelia, who is 43rd in line to the throne, is signed to Storm Management and has worked as a model for numerous brands, such as Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel and Alaia.

In 2020, she made her first foray into jewellery design, collaborating with Alice Millner on an exquisite collection, inspired by birds that she had identified in her garden during lockdown.
